Healthy Living includes having healthy air to breathe! And the air in the Houston area is notorious for emissions from the many refineries in our region! The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) is an EPA program that tracks the management of certain toxic chemicals that may pose a threat to human health and the environment. This information is submitted and compiled, in order to support informed decision-making by industry, government, non-governmental organizations, and the public.
The goal of the workshop is to educate communities, students, industry professionals, academicians, and public health officials on how to access and navigate the EPA TRI data source to improve environmental conditions and policies in environmental justice communities. Regional case studies will be incorporated into the workshop training. Registration is required.
